Developmental Editing
& Writing Coaching

Are you ready to complete that manuscript and get it ready for publication?

As a lifelong writer, I’m passionate about helping people bring their ideas, expertise, and voice into the world.

Whatever your project, I believe that the story you want to tell is waiting for you! Let me help you find it and tell it.

I help writers find voice, focus, structure, and success in their work.

My experience as a published author shapes how I mentor and provide editorial services for my fellow writers.

Bringing subject matter expertise in history, gender, race, and sexuality studies, humanities and social sciences, I work with authors of nonfiction books, academic manuscripts, grant proposals and curriculum materials.

Collaboration is key to my work with authors. I will be your cheerleader and champion as well as your constructive critic, and I’ll help you think about how to position your work to have an impact.

We are so grateful and honored to have worked with Dr. Jodi Vandenberg-Daves on our book: You’re doing it wrong! Mothering, media, and medical expertise. (New Brunswick, NJ: Rutgers University Press.) After our work together, we can enthusiastically endorse her developmental editing services. Her perspective encouraged us to tighten and strengthen our arguments while working from interdisciplinary methodologies. Being able to view the manuscript through multiple methodological lenses, Jodi assisted us in ensuring our work remained both consistent and accessible. As a result of her mentorship, we grew as writers, and we are proud of the final product. Jodi’s feedback was detailed, prompt and organized—she gave us thoughtful critiques in a way that was supportive yet challenging and invigorating. Our experience was so positive we continue to recommend her services to scholars in various fields.
